    Default If picks could talk!

    Show us your pick mojo!

I bought this pick a dozen or more years ago after reading about them on the Cafe. I once lost it in the couch and went without it for two full years. My wife was pissed that I bought a $30 pick. Eventually, when I threw out the couch, I cut it open and -- to my great surprise -- found the pick again and have used it as my main pick for the past decade. To me, it has the best sound and playability characteristics of all the picks I have tried, but I haven't tried everyone. I use other picks, typically out of concern for losing it again. I happily told my wife, that I've spent less than a quarter a month on this pick averaged over it's life, which may not be over yet!

So no one has a worn pick? This came from a discussion with a guitarist friend about it showing my history.

I primarily play Bluechips these days, so no wear or mojo for me, lol. The first Fender Heavy I tried out many years ago that was my gateway to heavier picks developed some nice wear and a natural right handed bevel, but I can’t recall offhand if I tossed it when I cleaned out during a downsize move a few years ago.

I also lost that pick for a couple years and it magically turned up when I was re-organizing a closet…no idea how it got there, lol…

Maybe Blue Chip will market a distressed CT-55.

I've had a real shell pick for about 35 years and haven't lost the thing yet. It still is in great shape. I've tried all kinds but still coming back to the shell.

A friend has an antique tortoise pick. I've never tried it. I've seen others on the cafe write that they are similar to Casiene picks.

How long has Marla Fibish had her pick? I think somewhere I saw it was decades
I think about getting a Thile pick but I’d probably lose it.
Sticking with Golden Gates unless a Christmas present shows up.
But for my level, I’m probably better off putting $30 toward a lesson

If you're like me, you keep that second pick in the tiny pocket of your jeans. Forget to take it out, for some reason and the pick is ready to fall out, wherever you hang your jeans. I've got a Primetone on my closet somewhere. I know when it fell out but don't know where it's rolled.

I'm not a fan of Golden Gate or Dawg picks, but a lot of folks are. You either love them or don't.
