Default Happy Holidays, and thanks Forum for all your help.

Hope this isn't too early, but I've got some time to write it now...

Happy holidays everyone, and thanks for all your help in the last year! It's been great to find a resource like this when starting a new instrument. In fact I'd say this Forum takes the prize for the best of all instrumental forums I've seen - that includes fiddle, whistle, cello, bagpipes, guitar, and nyckelharpa. One of the things that's so good about this one is that the mandolin world is small enough to include everyone on the same forum, but big enough that there's lots of useful info available, and everyone's so friendly.

    All the best for 2022!

    Max

Don't worry, you're not too early. In fact, you're a little late! Chanukah has already come and gone, as of the first weekend of the month (way too early, if you ask me), and Kwanzaa doesn't seem to get celebrated too much around here (mentioned in all of eight threads, three of which were by me - make that nine mentions now, four by me ), so you can go ahead and say Merry Christmas and feel fine about it. I'm not trying to be grinchy here, just keeping the record straight.

I usually say "Happy Merry" and let it be, myself.

Oh, and that is Otto the Octopus hanging off the headstock in the first photo. He's my favorite tree ornament, with a different miniature ornament hanging from each tentacle. It's a screengrab from a video, so the resolution isn't very good. Happy Merry, y'all!

It's not me - that's Santa, showing his commendable erudition with his choice of instrument. You can tell it's not me because I didn't have an F style last Christmas. And I've never had that much of a beard. And I sure can't tune without a tuner!

Yes, you can tune without a tuner. Now - tuning accurately without a tuner. That's a whole different thing.

    Happy holidays to everyone!

It's been a bit of a tough one, for the second year in a row.
But Friends, even virtual ones, are a blessing that helps make it all okay.

May your Christmas Day sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill, And may the year ahead be full of contentment and joy.

    Have a Merry Christmas.
