    Default Full Contact Bridge?

Just wanted to get some insight on the sonic difference(s) between full contact bridges and those with an arch space. I don't know that I've been able to detect a difference but it does seem to be sort of an issue to mention in ads that "this mandolin has a full contact bridge." Thanks

I always fit my keepers with a full contact base, I like it as it does lighten the bridge load and if you have an old mandolin or the like after time from the base feet pressing on the top, it'll dent-leave impressions in the top. I've straightened out the tops on a few by fitting full contact bases. So, I just go with it, and they all sound great to me. Hope that helps ya a bit. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

I bought a mandolin which I think is one of the Pango brand, as seen on ebay.
The difference in tone was immediately recognized. Definitely to the positive.
I am a sure believer in them. Make sure to fit it very well to the top. It can take a little time, but it is worth it.

I notice new factory made mandolins often now tend to only have a very small gap under the middle, which is maybe there in case the top moves in storage or transit, resulting in a loose fit (makers?)?
