    I got a bottle of whisky and will dream on.

    Many years ago I bumped into Stephen Gilchrist at Melbourne airport and naively asked if he had any spare mandolins for sale.

    I think he said something like, "No, 2-year waiting list and starting at US$5,000".
    Maybe it was more, but still, a fraction of the $20,000 asking price of the first Gil in the Classifieds.
    I couldn't afford one then and I can't now.
    Luckily I've tried one and didn't get on with it very well, so I'm not feeling the pain too much.
