Looks like one of the common solid electric mandolins, except something's missing. The text says:

'...with the pickup located under the pickguard.'

Interesting - I Googled this, and some people have done it with guitars. Feedback seems to be that with a normal pickup it sounds too quiet, but one maker who does it regularly appears to use 8 string (bass?) pickups on 6 string guitars, with 'neodymium' magnets, whatever they are.

It should have a faux pickup, like the fake frets on a scalloped Florida! Lol
Looks outa balance to me, perhaps a decal sound hole.

All those Esquire copies Brad Paisley plays have a neck pickup under the pick guard.

There was some guitar made by Fender called the Maurauder that had hidden pickups. Might have been experimental and never marketed.

Here it is: with 'neodymium' magnets, whatever they are.

They are "rare earth" magnates, they have a very strong magnetic field. If they were on top of the pickguard they could pull the strings out of tune.
I kind of like the clean look.

Made thousands of pickups with neo magnets and never had issues with strings being pulled out of tune (need damn big N52s to overcome mandolin tension)
