Thread: The newest hot mandolin accessory!

Default The newest hot mandolin accessory!

I got a tone gard and an arm rest for Christmas but this might be my favorite thing.
My daughter (pictured) made this for me.

She could make a small fortune on Etsy (assuming she starts with a large one haha).

Admit it though. You want a Pom Pom hat for your F style.

Definitely an accessory worth progressing - headstock scroll protectors. (You read it here first!)

I could use that little stocking cap this morning. It’s -22 Below here in Minnesota this morning and my mandolin has a severe case of vibrato!

Just to remind everyone this isn't the boys sophomore locker room. There are young people that are members here as well. How about we take this someplace else on the Internet.

It will keep the headstock warm this winter and cut down on brand name envy at your next jam! What a great idea.

I had a girlfriend from North Dakota who would tell similar stories. Like "If you're between towns on the highway at night and you get a flat tire, don't get out of the car and try to change the tire. You'll probably freeze to death before you get the tire changed..." That was an actual conversation she and her father had when she was sixteen.

I asked her "Doesn't it dawn on you at some point that God didn't intend for people to live there?"

I had this very realization one day in college: 20° below zero with a brisk wind, waiting on the sidewalk for the train to finish crossing campus so I could get to class. That was the day I realized I didn't have to stay in the Midwest. Don't miss the winters, don't miss the summers.

I waited for the school bus once in -24, in the first grade. I had no choice.

Years later in Madison, on a sunny afternoon when it was 10 below, I realized I didn’t have to live there and moved soon afterwards. Minus 35 that night. We won’t mention the wind chill.

Would probably use one for jams and shows in winter. Cute little hat.

Having grown up here in Minnesota it doesn't bother me that much. I do consider the Dakotas, northern Montana and Alaska worse for weather. And we don't have snow like "up in da UP, dere."

Have biked in -20F, played (next to the open back of a vehicle) in -10F. You can get used to it.

At least it's a dry cold around here
