Be sure to buy a string of pearls to go with this Collings MT. Black top mandolins, of course, date back to some of the early instruments by Orville Gibson, and they have a classic, timeless vibe. This one has only the lightest fret wear, and has been extremely well cared for. Great tone and lots of volume, and that's with nickel strings as we felt silver/grey went better with black than shiny brass (we're all about style here at Gryphon, just look at us!). Bronze strings would warm up the bass response a bit, of course. Includes the original hardshell case. |
