I looking forward to my mandriola arriving but in the mean time I've been investigating tuning and strings for said instrument

I found that if you call it a 12 string mandolin, the internet tend to tune it just like a mandolin with all four tripple courses in unison

But when looking for strings for a mandriola they come with 4 courses where two strings are sized and tuned like a mandolin and one is lower, effectively like an octave mandolin.
They put the lowest on top, so it will be picked first when strummed from top to bottom (from G to E) but I like it better when the highest string is hit first.

So I've ordered a set of mandriola strings but will install them with highest string on top.

I'm really looking forward to playing a mandolin AND an octave at the same time :-) after waiting for delivery and restoring it.
