My apologies for just dumping these in without comment, I was short on time, and reduced to doing all my web surfing on the phone with dicey internet as well as a dicey cell signal in my current location.

I found these to be interesting, and the guy who posted them explains where they came from, etc. so there really wasn’t much for me to comment on. I’ll have to say, though, that I cringed a bit when the DJ pressed Johnny to talk about “the biggest disappointment in his life” - obviously, that would be Jack’s death - though I don’t think the DJ realized that at the time. I think he was just pushing for comment about the drug bust, which he did eventually get. Johnny’s responses were awesome in this interview, but he took a very hard line on the Vietnam protests … and as history shows, he dropped that sort of rhetoric and took a different stance shortly thereafter.

At any rate, these are some little gems of history only recently published to YouTube, so I wanted to post them to the cafe as historical nuggets.

Mark, I have listened to two out of threes of these so far and they are really interesting. Anyone who appreciates country or rockabilly history should check them out. Thank you for posting them.
