    Default RIP Jean-Jacques Savin

    From the Guardian:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...tic-found-dead

His 75th birthday was last Friday, and "To celebrate his birthday, he had also brought along his mandolin, foie gras and champagne."

I'm sorry he didn't get to play a joyful tune upon his arrival in the Caribbean.

He "wanted to laugh at old age" but "got into difficulties off the Azores". A fate to which we can all relate.

RIP. A rare modern example when "men were men".

Lots of irony in his ultimate fate.
I tried to find his profile on Facebook but came up with loads of commercial media outlets all telling me, in a couple of sentences all about the man.

His previous attempt, a success, was in a barrel.
I wondered if he played the whistle too.
