    Excellent!

I am very psyched about this release. I am a very long time fan of Brownie & Sonny. I saw them several times in Chicago at the old Quiet Knight. & it was easy to poke your head in the back room & say hi. I was able to say Happy Birthday to Brownie once. So great to see his broad smile. I still have the 10” Folkways EP they are paying a homage to.
Of course, I’m a long time fan of Ry & Taj. A worthy project to bring them together again. Will they tour? A Brownie & Sonny tribute could not be in better hands.

Good to see the Rising Sons rising again. More than fifty years later, they still sound vital. That link didn't bring me to the album per se, but to a song from it, "Hooray Hooray." I'm going to bet that is the same F-4 that Ry used on his iconic performance of "Going To Brownsville" so long ago. Man oh man, is that ever a powerful instrument! But clicking through brought me to this behind-the-scenes video.

Thanks! I needed that! Two of my favorites playing the music of two of my favorites. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

One gets the impression these two know what they're doing. The riff Ry throws in between the first and second lines of the second chorus (~1:30) is masterful - in the pocket yet brilliant. Just the sort of thing I aim for, and he just hits it with ease. Masterful.
