Default A new A style mandolin

The latest of the King Billy/Huon pine mandolins, this one for a player in California. Tasmanian King Billy pine soundboard, Tasmanian Huon pine back and sides, Victorian blackwood neck and binding with a 13" scale Madagascan rosewood fingerboard. Gotoh tuners and an Allen tailpiece. Satin lacquer finish. Loud and well balanced sound and I am rather pleased with it.

Gorgeous wood on that mandolin! Can you post an audio or video file so we can hear what it sounds like? The sound holes are also very interesting shapes.

Also taken by the cool fret markers. I love those A styles, and glad that I do. It saves me money!

I look at this one and think what's there not to like. The contrasts in woods really stands out along with the sound holes. It's a beauty.
