Default Mandolin Accompaniment to "The Very Thought of You"

A student of mine wanted a somewhat complicated accompaniment to the jazz standard "The Very Thought of You" in G major to perform with his wife who sings.

It worked well on the mandolin and it's attached if anyone is interested.
The chords changes are all on beats one and three except where noted above the chord grid.

Great tune! I heard it first in Little Willie John's version, which I still enjoy, but there's dozens of others out there; Nat Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Wilson, Tony Bennett, plus the original Ray Noble record are all on You Tube.

Of course there's many choices to make for chords. For some reason I'm used to hearing F#7 or A#dim7 at bar three (4 in your chart) , and A9b5 at seven (your 8)— must be from someone I used to play it with. But your version works well, Mark, so thanks for sharing it!

    Hi Bruce,
I never thought of that tune as a shuffle, that is interesting.

I've always heard with a slow swing beat, such as Sarah Vaughan with Barney Kessel on guitar:

and Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass:
