    Default ANNOUNCEMENT: TAMCO retirement.

    Its been 20 fantastic years!

I have so enjoyed working with mandolin luthiers large and small, wonderful customers and many thanks to Scott - and being a very small part of this wonderful community. But poor health and advancing old age have regretfully made me decide to call it a day. I will carry many wonderful memories for the rest of my days.

..... and it’s also 20 years since I bought my first mandolin from you Trevor. You and your iconic shop will be sadly missed but none of us can go on for ever. To echo John’s words, have a long and happy retirement and, hopefully, we’ll still hear from you on the board from time to time.

One visit to Brighton taught me more about the variety in top quality mandolins than any festival, jam or instrument store that I had been to. Thank you for what you meant for the mandolin world, Trevor. Especially on our side of the pond.

I still am very happy with the Collings I got from you. The mandolin world in the UK will be much poorer.

The highlight of my trip across the pond to London a decade ago was a 75 minute train ride south with my teenage daughter to visit Trevor’s Brighton shop. His charm and wit, let alone the vast collection of wood treasures were truly memorable. Be proud and enjoy your retirement. You’ve done so much for the niche mandolin community. And globally!

    Trevor,

Thanks for all you did for the UK mandolin community and wider. You made instruments available to us that we would probably never got hold of.

    Best wishes for your retirement.
