    Default Ron Miles RIP

No mandolin content, but jazz fans and lovers of American music should note the all too young passing of one of our greats, Ron Miles.

I’ve seen him live a number of times, with Bill Frisell and with his own combos.
Amazing tone and lyricism in his playing.

    Sad news indeed.

Ron was a fixture in Denver - we saw him all the time; aside from his teaching posts, Ron's activities always meant jazz in Denver on the weekends. He and the group played with Ginger Baker for Sunday brunches in that little cafe, before Baker left the states in 99.
