Russ - Went yesterday for a short while. Some nice instruments for sure but it seems the markups are higher than ever, no doubt a sign of these times. I did have a very nice visit with the Altman guitar/mandolin family. My gripe is the venue and how it's set up. With all the electrics and amps being marketed, the noise level in an acoustically horrible space is sky-high. If you try out an instrument and think it sounds good, I sure don't know how you tell - perhaps if you're first in line or last out the door. Some vendors allow you to take one into the food area to try out, but I still find that noisy. They should give some thought to dividing the acoustic and electrocuted items into separate spaces (maybe have some small acoustic closets/booths) and/or find a venue that provides better noise attenuation. Just my 2 cents that doesn't buy anything anymore.

Gil—now that’s funny! I don’t know about other parts of the country, but the same issues existed at all the shows I have been to in the Carolinas.
