Thread: Guitar bouzouki for Dream Guitars

Default Guitar bouzouki for Dream Guitars

For some time I've been building a top of the range guitar bouzouki for Dream Guitars who are based in North Carolina, USA. The gzouk is very similar to the one I made for Adam Rhodes a couple of years back. It has a European spruce cylinder top and a pomelle bubinga back and sides. Stunning wood.

Here I am machining the neck tenon on the spindle moulder.

A very effficient set-up you have created there, Nigel. Correct angle and perfectly-fitting tenon and repeatable with great accuracy.
I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order. - Eric Morecambe

Yep, it works a treat. Actually, I make the tenon 4mm narrower than I want, then add 2mm of cross grained ebony to each side of the tenon to increase the strength. The spindle is a superb tool for making necks. I use it now for almost every stage of neck making these days.
