Thread: Gibson ‘23 on Goodwill

    Default Gibson ‘23 on Goodwill

Sold at $1667. Don’t know enough to comment on damage or originality. Looked as if in recent use, and had original case. Label present but looked (in their exposure) brand new.

That putative Excel so far hasn’t broken $50, which is good.

I'm surprised no one posted this before it sold.

It is rather scratched up and did have some damage to the back edge ... maybe just missing binding, it was hard to tell from the photos. Endpin missing; otherwise, hardware is all there and looks original.

It's nice to see something on SGW go for a below-market price for a change. I am not sure how much the repairs will cost; once it is fixed up it could perhaps be flipped for $2300–2500 ... or kept and enjoyed by the buyer. I got home too late to bid on it today, and am not entirely sure if I would have still been in the ballgame at the amount it sold for.
