    Hi Jude,
    Sorry to hear of the circumstances. I spotted the Dave Gregory mandolin a week or so ago and mentioned it in a post entitled “I Spy Calton”. The point I was making was that the case is likely to be as much of interest as the mandolin itself - I doubt that the auctioneers (or yourself) are likly to have picked up on the fact that Keith Calton has been the legendary case maker in the UK for 40 odd years and recently sold the business to a manufacturer in the US which enabled him to retire.

    Best of luck with the sale. Newcastle is a long way from home in the Peak District and I’m intending to walk to Spurn Point tomorrow, anyway!
