    Mazzaccara's mandolins do look good, but is one of them really worth more than a Calace?

    You can't really go by estimates. I think often the auctioneers will estimate low to give us suckers the idea that we can get a deal.

    Well, the Calace went for 380 quid (US$499) and the Mazzaccara didn't sell.

    Even with a buyer's premium I'd say that's a pretty fair deal on a Calace.

    There may be more interest in bowlbacks in Europe and the UK vs. the US but not that much more.
