He answered my question Squirrelian and Awashonk's Waltz video .....it's an A5 special .. I thought it was the less expensive model M ... didn't know they made the Special in amber tone. Surprised he felt he had to file the nut on a branrd new Northfield .. my 2017 Big Mon was perfect. I love his tunes and relaxed touch !

HI Folks! Here's a practice track of Women of Ireland or Mná na hÉireann. I wanted to share this so we can see how or if I get better at this. This is my 1st attempt at recording the backing track free-style. I always use a metronome recording backing tracks, because I tend to speed up. I can still hear my Dad " Francis! SLOW DOWN!". But, The harder or louder I play I'll speed up, Soft, I'll probly still speed... https://soundcloud.com/frank-deloren...na-na-heireann

Lovely. Soulful. makes me long for those women of Ireland. Whatever you're trying technically, you're doing something right.

HI Folks, I am joined here on this Steve Winwood classic, as recorded by Blind Faith, by fellow Mandolin Cafe member and You-Tuber, the very talented Timothy Sweeney aka "tmsweeney". Timothy is playing a Weber Black Ice octave mandolin and I am on the Pava A4. Thanks for the Listen!

Man that Pava sounds soooo good.
How awesome to collaborate with the great Frankdolin!

I hope this encourages others who maybe have to drive hours to jam, to try some virtual collaboration, with today's technology its relatively cheap and with a little effort can be quite rewarding.

So Frank, what's next -the entire David Grisman catalogue?

Lovely playing Frank and I don’t even like tremolo all that much, but that was great.

A fine collaboration by two first-rate players, Frank. Reminds me so much of the great playing of Django's Quintet of The Hot Club of France away back in the 1930s and '40s

You know John I had to get into a bit of trance to play that all the way through,
I pictured guys in suits with lit cigarettes dangling from their mouths sitting in an open air cafe playing enormous archtop guitars somewhere in the south of France, yes the vision included young French woman in bikinis.

Frank, I'm concerned about your dog. Is its mandolin in the shop? Not a paw injury, I hope!
Oops, on a second examination, I see the mandolin in the shadows.

Here's another Tim and Frank collaberation. This time with Tim carrying most of the load with his Mandolas on "Dawg After Dark". A true collaberation, where some good ideas are disguarded and the result is beautiful! This is the first time any of my music was worked with a "track" being inserted into a piece, where all my work previous has been live/overdub.Also my first attempt at trying to craft a solo. Thanks Tim!

Very cool, Tim and Frank. You make me want to take up smoking, and, in a world that's black and white, hang out in a bar listening to this tune.
    I'm enjoying the collaborations.

    Thanks
I think "cool" is what we were intending and hopefully pulled off.
That tune has many similarities to "Manor de Mes Reves" one wonders if Grisman wasn't remotely influenced by it.

Here's a beautiful Irish hymn that was put to a New Zealand tune, as far as I could find. It's a pretty tune that is harder to play than it sounds, at least to me... Thanks for the Listen!!
