    Default Ashbury AT-24 tenor guitar?

Hi all. I am interested in purchasing a tenor guitar and came upon this model through YouTube. It is manufactured in Vietnam and looks like it’s primarily sold in the UK. It sounds wonderful from the videos I’ve heard and was wondering if anybody had experience with it or has one themselves. Thanks much!

Here’s a link to a YouTube video showcasing the guitar:

They apparently are available from Hobgoblin USA as well.

I have not owned one but I have picked one up in the shop, nice size and shape, seems well built.
They do a cut away version as well, if you want a hardwood tenor I think they look like a good buy.
I cant really remember but maybe they have a slightly wider nut than the Blueridge?

Don’t know about the US but none of the UK shops has one in stock and they don’t expect them to be available ‘til mid August (which probably means well into 2023!).

I didn’t check the guitar but I bought an Ashbury (Hobgoblin label) E32 octave mandolin from China and I love it! (See my vids)
I played a fair number of Ashbury’s other instruments (pre-covid) and they were really good for the prices listed.

I did try out the S style mandolin. It is one of the prettiest mandolins I’ve seen, a sort of pumpkin top with turquoise around soundhole, though it wasn’t as rich sounding as I’d expected. It may have been the strings, tuning or just that particular instrument. Or, more likely, they’d upped the price based on looks. Still, it was just good.
    Overall their instruments are great.

The USA website let me add it to the basket. I would think that if it was out of stock it would have stopped me but I could be wrong.

In my opinion those looking for a mass market tenor guitar might
    like to listen to this.
Gary O'Slide - guitare ténor recording King Dirty 30s series 7 Tenor

I bought one of these Recording King tenor guitars from a forum
sponsor listed above. At the price I did not expect them to set up
the guitar. I paid a local luthier to do the set up. When he was
done he said, "This is a good little guitar". Though I don't think
it sounds like a Gibson or Collings, I am happy with it.

Sounds good, you may be right however that is a surprising comparison as there are some very major differences between those two guitars!

Bad news. I checked with Hobgoblin today and they don’t expect a shipment of AT 24s until July. Be still my TGAS!

I agree there are differences. I expect the Ashbury guitars have much
better materials, and let's hope more labor. Still, with a range of similar
tenor guitars from $465 to $1205 the Ashbury guitars are mass market.

For those not set on the Ashbury I merely suggest listening to the recording
to see if the tone of the Recording King tenor guitar matches their taste.

Member MoreThanQuinn posted about his 1940 Gibson L-4T. Listen to this.
Used my tenor in a school project
That got me interested in tenor guitar. If I were spending more that is the
sound I would be looking for.
    Thanks,
