Default New Electric Mando -- Strings?

    Hey folks!

Way back in the stone-age, I played a mandobird in a blues band. I just ordered a new Eastman El Rey ERM and, of course, I intend to have lots of fun trying out different strings. With the mandobird, I finally settled on flat-wound Daddarios as the best to my liking, and I will certainly try those.

    My question is this:

Has anyone tried Thomastiks on an electric mandolin?
(and, yeah, it feels kind of weird even asking about such a thing!)

(note, I will be using the El Rey primarily in my excursions into Jazz, for which I usually prefer a more "mellow" sound)

    Thanks in advance!
