Default Anyone got a ToneRite i could borrow?

    Howdy,

Anyone want to rent me their tonerite? I’ll pay whatever its worth to ya - it seems people buy these for a new instrument and they get put away never to be seen again and we could do better than me going out any buying a new one to add to the pile.

Acknowledging the risk of negative feedback from ToneRite® owners/users, here goes:

1 each small aquarium air pump (less tubing)
1 small rectangle of thin felt (to be placed between pump and strings)
1 small set of hook and loop (Velcro®)-type straps to safely secure in place on top of the strings

These items should set you back no more than $20 and will take less than 15 minutes in order to put them together for a functional solution. It works.

I do have one just sitting in a box. Bought years ago and not sure if it's the current 3G model. If you don't end up getting one from MLWolfe, happy to let you borrow if you just pay for shipping.

Hmmm okay, well you could let us know what route you took. Personally, I just rub a special tincture onto the top and backplate. Proprietary ingredients, it does include the perspiration from three awesome players who excel in five different genre.

I am embarrassed to be the first I’ve known to get one, but I got the Dr Herringbone Tone Traveler thing. It’s new. It’s expensive. I made a good amount of money on a mando sale and figured I’d give it a shot. What it does is it gets the actual notes a mandolin produces to vibrate through the top, essentially. So it’s like playing it in. A new Collings guitar I got recently has opened up considerably with it, though, and I’ve had it on the mando the last few days.

Hey Rileto, so you like the Tone Traveler? I've been on the fence about getting one but I saw they're on sale right now. It seems like they're doing a lot more for the instrument and like you I can use it on my mandolin and my guitar so it's actually cheaper than getting two tone rites.
