I'm in the tri-cities WA area, and wanted to see if anything happens nearby. Im looking for jams, festivals, and anything else, especially bluegrass related!

There are some bluegrass festivals in the summer, including Wenatchee River and Columbia Gorge.

Sacajawea festival in Pasco, mctama.org, typically the week before Wenatchee.
Also, Goldendale picker fest in early June. Can be cool, WINDY and pollen laden. Still fun. Did I mention WNDY?

Both Goldendale Pickers Festival and Sacajawea festival look awesome, I'll try to make both!
I'm in the Tri Cities. I'm a member of Mid Columbia Traditional Arts and Music Association (MCTAMA). Two weeks ago we restarted our weekly jams. Monday nights 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Quinault Ave Baptist church in Kennewick. We're mostly bluegrass but not too hard core. There is also District 12 of Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association. Three Rivers Folklife Society has acoustic music activities as well.
Here is a partial list of upcoming festivals in the northwest:
Goldendale first weekend in June
Sacajawea June 9 - 12 (at Sacajawea State Park just east of Pasco. This is our MCTAMA festival)
Wenatchee River June 17 - 19
Sisters Folk Festival (Oregon) June 24 - 26
Darrington July 15 - 17
Columbia Gorge Stevenson July 21 - 24
String Summit (Oregon, this is the LAST YEAR for it) July 21 - 25
Bluegrass from the Forest, Shelton July 29 - 31
Winlock Pickersfest August 5 - 7 Winolequa Park.
Blue Waters Medical Lake August 12 - 14
Mount St. Helens August 12 - 14 Toledo WA
Rainier August 25 - 28
North Cascades Bellingham August 30 - September 6
George WA (I don't have the date yet)
Tygh Valley (Oregon) - September 23-25, 2022
I forgot to mention an old time jam in Waitsburg (don't know if they've started back up yet). Also if you haven't checked out Brewminatti in Prosser they have some of the best bands to come through. Just saw AJ Lee and Blue Summit there Wednesday night.
The Emerald of Siam in Richland is the only Tri City place left that still brings in some Bluegrass/Newgrass/Americana among their eclectic choices. Over the years I've seen Fruition, Milkdrive and The Slocan Ramblers there, to name a few.
Oh, awesome. I'll probably go check out the jam this week. I'm really new to mandolin though, would anyone there mind if I just sit in on the first one?
OK, I'll definitely go this week then. I'll also bring my guitar, which I have more practice on even if I suck at soloing on it!
That sounds great! We don't have a big turnout yet.....Two weeks back (first jam there since 2019) there were two of us. Last week there were 4 players and one injured reserve (skiing accident). We start at 7:00 pm and play until 9:00 or so.
It’s two days to the Goldendale Pickers Festival. Rain or shine I’ll be there Friday and I’ll decide about Saturday as it nears. Anybody else?

I'm planning to head there today if I can get out of work early. Otherwise I'll be there tomorrow (Friday).
Forecast shows 30 - 40 % chance of thunderstorms today between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. Cloudy but dry Friday. 50 % chance of rain Saturday, 70 % chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday. Temperature 50's to 70's, pushing 80 today.
Planning to come out Saturday with my 3 year old. Bill, I will probably drop him off around 6:00 with you and pick him up in the AM.
Josh, that’s great. He can play music with the teddy bears, just leave the Duff for him to play. We’ll give him a hardy breakfast of hot cocoa and Krispy Kreme donuts to be ready for the long drive home and I’m sure That he’ll enjoy the finger paint and drum set he’ll go home with

I'm thinking about making the trip this weekend for a night - maybe Saturday. It's about 3.5 hours from me one way which ain't that bad - but if anyone else is thinking of going from Seattle, LMK - maybe we can carpool

I was there for a few hours today. Good turnout, now that COVID has wound down a bit. Lots of people happy to see each other after an involuntary couple years away. There was a little mist and drizzle from time to time but most folks kept going. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

I had a great time at Goldendale! Met up with old friends, made some new ones. Rain and wind at times, nice and sunny other times.
Just a reminder MCTAMA is hosting our camp n' jam at Sacajawea State park just east of Pasco WA next weekend.
Heading south & west crossing the border for a week of picking in Cashmere for the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival .....been way too long!
I'll see ya there Doc It'll be my first festival since I moved up here. I'm excited to meet some of y'all! Maybe we can get a Cafe Jam

Great jamming with Mandobart and others in Pasco this weekend! There were not that many people at Sacajawea but that did not stop us from having a great time.

I’d have loved being there but I had a bout of COVID and decided to be a responsible citizen and stay home. Next year?
Did you get rained on or was the magic strong?
