    Default Big Muddy Morning

I started out the morning by pulling out a mando that I have not taken out of the case for a while, a Big Muddy (Wide Neck). What a treat!

I even got applause and comments from my wife when I played "Bring It On Home To Me". I think the Animals recorded that one.

    It's a GREAT life!

It is a great Life, and what a great way to start the Day!

Just got a Big Muddy Mandolin a few weeks ago.
Spruce top, walnut back and sides, and mahogany neck.
It is well built, and it looks, feels, and sounds great.
And it is a lot of fun to play, especially as a start to the morning!
Mike Dulak is an engaging and humorous builder.

Every day should begin with some mandolin, no?

I have an M-11 that I really love. I would have to say it is the least finicky instrument in my stable. Stays in tune forever, great intonation, doesn't require any special considerations to sound great. It is the one shown in my picture there.

I love the look of it, and I love its particular sound - much more old timey than bluegrassy.

You've got me thinking about my M-15

BTW NFI there is a bargain M-4 in the classifieds right now.

Like most of you, I have the good fortune to have a few mandolins and I love rotating through the collection. I almost always have one sitting on the stand in my living room. It provides a great 5 minute break here and there throughout the day.

I never thought about "Burning Man" when I posted this thread . . . sorry.

I love Big Muddy mandolins, especially "jumbos" ! I can't imagine anyone any better to work with than Mike Dulak! He is tops! Besides, anyone who is loved by a hound and loves a hound, just has to be tops!

Nice! My first mandolin was a Mid-Missouri M0. I still have it, and this makes me want to pull it out. I've been focusing on the Gibson Snakehead I bought last year, but I learned a lot on that M0. I used to play it at a lot of open mic nights. Wonderful instrument.
