Default Slowed Down Bluegrass with Pics of WV Mountains

    https://youtu.be/KkstWEvZBZM

I recently recorded this short slow bluegrass-style tune. I am showing pictures I have taken in the mountains of West Virginia.

The tune is me on guitar and mandolin, but not at the same time...I'm working on that.

    Nice job.
As an old whitewater paddler, I've been all over that part of West Virginia and paddled those rivers you showed. Lovely place lost in time.

Having grown up in one of the Virginia counties that borders West Virginia, as a kid I thought most of the world looked like that. When it's there all the time we tend to not even notice. I remember being in the parking lot of a small strip mall near home, and a couple got out of their out-of-state-licensed car. The woman said to the man "Isn't that pretty?!".
I looked around wondering what she saw in the parking lot that was so pretty, and then I realized she was looking at the mountains in the background.

    Almost heaven ...

Driven the Blue Ridge Parkway a few times - I know, further east - and I-81 once - I know, further south - and I have traipsed through West Virginia too, somewhere along the line. Lovely part of the country, for sure. I spent a fall in western PA some fifty years ago, and one of the things my buddies and I would do now and then was drive down to Morgantown and chase WVU girls around, never successfully. I don't recall paying much attention to the scenery though. I went to the Rainbow Gathering in 1980, in Monongahela National Forest, and that was when I really got a good sense of the area, spending ten days there or more.
But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. - Dennis Miller
