    Default Reso kits?

Are there any kits out there for building a resonator mandolin?

Or a kit for a flatop that can easily be modified to drop in a resonator?

    Thanks!

A friend of mine simply took a cheap plywood mandolin, cut a hole in it , made a well and used a cone from a tricone guitar for a resonator mandolin. Worked great.

I suppose, pops1, it depends whether you simply want a respnator mandolin or your derive the most pleasure from building one.

I know you can buy parts - a friend of mine has built several resonator guitars - but of a suitable size for mandolin?

Here are a couple of possibilities:

    https://mgbguitars.com/collections/resonators

As an experiment, I bought a resonator, cover, and a few other parts from the second source which will end up in a workshop/camping tenor guitar. I'll post some pics when it's done.
