Default Bartok and Schubert Lieders .abc files (or vids)

Hello Ladies and Gents here’s a spicy challenge!

It’s my birthday today (63) and I wanted to give you all a present.
Problem is that I don’t actually have the present that I wanted to share!

It’s a group of .abc’s of Schubert’s Lieders or some Bartok folk tunes in .abc format. Or anything reasonably simple with some sharps and flats and with cool syncopation. I guess Blues fits that.

Have a beautiful day everyone and much love to MandolinCafe!

You’re very welcome. Aeee! It’s been a fun year.

Here are about 150 assorted Polish tunes, some very lovely, some ok.

Happy birthday to you, Simon. I am a bit confused by your first post. Are you actually looking for that music? I am pretty sure there are lots of pieces by Schubert and Barton on IMSLP. Not ABC format though but they could be converted.

If you absolutely have to have ABC, I would suggest downloading MusicXML scores and converting them to ABC, e.g. using EasyABC:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/easyabc/

There are some libraries of MusicXML scores with Bartok and Schubert tunes, e.g. here:

    http://www.mscorelib.com/actree/index.htm

Otherwise, Musescore and the free Finale reader will both export to MusicXML, so if you have notation files in either of these, you can convert easily.

As Jim has said, there are also any number of pieces by Schubert and Bartok at IMSLP that can be played from standard notation. Some Schubert lieder also come in popular editions with notated melody lines and chord symbols.

As for Bartok, I recommend the 44 Duos For 2 Violins. I recorded eight of them on mandolin a few years ago:
