We sold quite a few of these Lebeda mandolins, which were made in Czech Republic, back when the exchange rate was more favorable and shipping wasn’t so expensive. We’re always happy to have one return because they were so well crafted and the quality of the maple and spruce was always impressive. Bluegrass has long been popular in the Czech Republic, which surprises most folks, and Jiri Lebeda, who owns the company, is an accomplished bluegrass musician.
This particular F-5 Standard was made in 2003 and it’s in excellent structural condition. It has been played quite a bit but it was well cared for for the most part. There are some “worm tracks'' on the back which are probably from shirt buttons or maybe a stray zipper now and then. There is some light fret wear to the first seven frets and almost no wear to the top. Includes a nice hardshell case. |
