I bought the CD off of Ry's bandcamp page ( rycooder.bandcamp.com ) to get the booklet and got an immediate download. Listened to it today and it's spectacular.

Good question. And an obvious one, considering where we are here. I've been unable to find out anything on the web. Oddly, no one has created a wiki page for the album yet - that's my go-to site for such info, as very often there is just such detail. But nope. Not yet, anyway. Discogs.com doesn't go track by track, just offers this not-too-surprising info:

Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo – Ry Cooder
Vocals, Harmonica, Guitar, Piano – Taj Mahal

But I don't understand why, with several members having bought the album, no one has posted this. Not in any of the threads about this. Hopefully someone will, soon.

That said, the Guitar Player article mentions mandolin on just this track, and guitar on four of the other ten tracks: “Pawn Shop,” “My Baby Done Changed the Lock on the Door,” “Drinkin’ Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee,” and “Beautiful City.”

There may be more info in this video.

Haven't played the CD in a week or so, but as I recall, there's only one track with mando.

Dang! I was afraid of that. And it sounds so good on this song. Oh well!

    Thanks!

Ry seems to use mandolin mostly as an occasional flavoring these days. His previous album started off very promisingly, but didn't feature mando very much:
