    Default Mods to Hoffee case?

Is it possible to make slight modifications to the Hoffee case? I have an Apitius F5 (love it!) which fits extremely snugly in my Hoffee thinsulate case. I'd love to be able to add a tone guard and/or an arm rest, but there's no way I could fit them in the case without causing damage to my mando. Any recommendations on where I could go to get the case "shaved down" just a bit?

Your best bet may be to get a custom Hoffee case and sell your standard one. I had a custom case made for my Arrow Jazzbo, to about 6 weeks but it fits perfectly.

If you can modify the Hoffee, it probably wouldn't fit any other mandolin. Getting the right case would be the safest bet, IMO.

Hoffee will modify it for a modest cost if you pay shipping both ways or are close enough to take it there

Jeff Hoffee just did a refit of a guitar case for me. Refit and return shipping was $250. Can't beat the cases or the service. All of my ten thumbs up for Jeff and his crew.
