Default Anybody dealt with Vintage Gintage

Looking at something on GBase from "Vintage Gintage", Bob Page.
Anybody have experience buying there? Would you recommend?
    Thanks.

I purchased a mandolin from Bob Page, vintage gintage, a few years ago. My experience was great - very helpful, answered all questions, sent lots of pictures, priced fair, transaction was smooth, instrument packed well, shipped promptly.

Browse the classifieds. Bob Page posts there often. He has quite an array of interesting instruments that are not necessarily mainstream brands but allways very interesting. I do think that he represents the instruments well. My conversation with him via email was allways knowledgable and pleasant on his side. I have not bought anything from him but would consider doing so if I had an itch to scratch.

I recently contacted him about one of his instruments. Very timely, pleasant response. I would have no problem buying something from him. And yes, he has a lot of interesting pieces for sale.

Bob is a good guy and true instrument aficionado. I had a very nice conversation with him once and wouldn't hesitate to do business with him.

I recently purchased a mandolin from Bob; he is very experienced and very knowledgeable about the vintage instruments he offers. Great conversations, very fair price, excellent service - communication, careful packing and rapid delivery - and the instrument has met with much admiration from other musicians. I couldn't have been more pleased with our transaction and highly recommend Vintage Gintage.

I've since found out he was one of the Buffalo Brothers Music Shop brothers. I used to have a custom Martin commissioned by them.

The deal will proceed. Thanks, everybody.

Couldn't swing the one he had, so I bought a Kentucky KM-1000B. I think I chose wisely. Click image for larger version.

I’ve also purchased a mandolin from Bob - fair price, great communication and I scored a nice Gibson A3 whiteface with great sound. I routinely lust after the cool and interesting instruments he offers for sale!
