I can’t seem to find any mention about this specific question I have. I sealed the burst with two very light spray coats of shellac. Two pound cut, dewaxed flakes. Everything looks good but the surface is fairly rough. Do I sand the two sealer coats as flat as I can before applying my truoil coats?
    Thank you.

The surface is likely to feel "fuzzy". If that is what you mean by "rough", all is well.
Do not sand much. I do just a light but thorough rub with 320 before beginning varnish because the thin shellac layer will sand through with only light sanding. Just smooth off those "nibs" and proceed.
