Keep an eye on Sweetwater. I picked up a Unitune on sale there for $15 a while back. (Even though that's not what this thread is about.)

I've been using a Fender Flash rechargeable tuner for the past year and it's been great. It's USB rechargeable, has a great bright screen, and works well even when others are tuning up around me.

I have an Intellitouch PT40 rechargeable tuner, I think I bought it 5 or 6 years ago. No issues, plenty bright, and I still have to charge it maybe less than a handful of times during the year. I'd say it's probably not on par with a TC polytune in terms of precision, but I mostly used it for guitar where it's not that big of a deal.
