Default Andy Statman and Jake Eddy in State College, PA

    Hi Everyone,

    Just thrilled this is happening:

I’m going to get to interview Andy and Jake too as a promo for the show, which has me a tad nervous but what the hay!

Any questions you’d like me to ask?

Yes, does Andy still have his old snakehead?

For posterity, Andy and his old snakehead. Looks to be a great venue and I got hungy just looking at the food pix. Enjoy the night Kevin!!

Related to the Snakehead question, I'd love to hear about Andy's quest for mandolin tone. I've read various stories over the past decade of Andy getting one tremendous mandolin and then another, after decades with that Snakehead, so I'm curious whether he has found what he's looking for.

Yes, Andy still has his old blacktop snakehead, but he does not really perform with it anymore. He recently purchased a Lloyd Loar F5 and that is his regular performing instrument. He also has an Aleyas F5 (Chapman). He played Kimble mandolins almost exclusively until he acquired his Loar F5.

Andy is one of the most approachable, least pretentious people on the planet... so have no fear when you interview him. His knowledge of music and mandolin is almost unfathomable...
