Thread: Case dehumidifier?

  1. #1

    Default Case dehumidifier?

I live in the Philippines now and it gets very humid during rainy season. So I fill a salt shaker with dry rice & keep it in my mando cases (Pricetone & Gibson).

    Any comments or better ideas?

    Thanks ~ Mike

I have used Silica Gel SG40 Aluminum 40-Gram Desiccant Dehumidifiers in my accordion cases for many years. They are economical, re-chargeable, small enough to fit just about any instrument case and work much better than dry rice. They are available on Amazon, eBay and at many sporting goods stores.

You can buy humidifier/dehumidifiers that keep the humidity at a steady 45%. I think D'Adario has them.
