Default Musical Scrapbook from the Golden Age

Many years ago, I bought this scrapbook on eBay of musical brochures and concert programs, most of which are for mandolin or other plucked instruments. A few months ago I scanned it (to try out my new book scanner) and posted it on my website. I posted the link on Facebook, but never posted it here, so... here it is! Enjoy!

Fun to look at. It would be just a few years after the latest date I saw in this scrap book that my grandfather was playing the mandolin. While probably no virtuoso, he quit to go into the Navy in 1917. I got his mandolin from a cousin who though I should have in 2017. It is an old tater bug in a canvas case with galoshes buckles on it. Everything is in good shape and it does not sound bad at all. So this would have been very much like his world then, before it all changed after WWI.

Another wonderful piece of mandolin orchestra history. I've always enjoyed your presentations, like at CMSA, so thanks so much again ...

Well, it was fine a few hours ago, but now I can't either. May be heavy traffic from downloading this file.
