I'm guessing you want notation for the vocal line, and probably in Marvin Gaye's version, yes? Good tune, but it's too simple to bother writing out— you can get it by ear.

Try it in D minor (Marvin seems to be in Eb minor, but that's not a good key for mandolin). Notes will be d-e-f-g-a-b, plus the occasional high d and low b (natural). Total eight notes, all of them right there in your natural scale.

So start singing and pick out the notes:

    Oo-oo I bet you're wond'rin' how I knew

    a-g-g-f-d-f-d-f-d-d

    Etc. etc. Have fun!

    Welcome to the forum, Roadstar.

Ive noticed something in recent years, a product of the internet age, many websites use the term “tabs” to mean a lead sheet or song chart consisting of lyrics with chords indicated above the lyrics … but that isn’t really “tab”: Tab, which is short for tablature, is a form of musical notation.

If you’re looking for chords to play the song, search Google for “heard it through the grapevine chords” I’m sure you’ll find plenty of help. The chord names for guitar or piano will be the same as for mandolin.

If you’re after the melody, you can do as Bruce suggests above.

If you’re enthralled with a specific artist and want to find the key, try searching like this:
”heard it through the grapevine chords Marvin Gaye”
”heard it through the grapevine chords Creedence Clearwater”
    etc

Although Ive had issues with them in the past, I’d say musescore.com is probably your best source for pop, some Classical and such.
Just search there and copy out the notes as a .abc file. Then go to mandolintab.net
    Here’s an example from thesession.org

    T: Take It Easy
    R: jig
    M: 6/8
    L: 1/8
