    Default Vinyl, anyone?

A friend of mine is head librarian at a Northeastern college where he has received an offer of 1,500 classical albums from a former faculty member. His library no longer accepts vinyl, so they are trying to find someone that might be interested in housing the collection (which I assume would also include some mandolin recordings, though I don't have a comprehensive catalogue). If interested, please get in touch with me privately for contact information.

This appears to be an audiophile's dream. Do you know any 'high end' stereo guys?

So far none that are willing to pay shipping on 1500 LPs.

An audiophile's dream? A collector's nightmare. As a retired music librarian and former member of ARSC, I grieve whenever I hear of someone in such a situation. Care and love, not to mention money, go into such a collection. Being of a certain age, of course, many folks I know have classical LP and CD collections that libraries, schools at every level, and music stores (including LP and CD vintage shops) shoo away. I, myself, have an embarrassingly large classical LP collection that, when they put me in the ground might as well go into the ground behind me (I'll specify the need for a Cat excavator in my will ... )

    Umm ... good luck!

I'm still confident I can find a home for my vinyl when I'm gone. There will always be hardcore collectors of every medium & I'll bet there'll always be enough social media for those diligent enough to plaster the whole lot It'll be easier than getting rid of the piano, that's for sure!!

I'm leaving my mandolin 78s to the Library of Congress, as I have hundreds that they don't have. I'm pretty sure they have all of my LPs, though.
