    Default Y Stern Mandos-Octave

I am looking (on line) at a couple of octave mandolins from Y Stern (Canada). The recordings sound OK, and they have an interesting design aesthetic and a reasonable price point (under $2k). Anyone have one of these or experience with the builder, Octave, Mandolin or Mandola?

    Thanks,

He is Israeli and the “interesting design aesthetic” is similar to the Kerman mandolins that most of the virtuosi over there play.
