Could be, I have questions, was it refinished? Looks like someone got creative with the added pickguard. It might be a fun player, I prefer an attached bridge on a flat top. Not too much risk at present price. Let us know if you get it.

I'd like a better look at the neck heel and string height at the 12th fret. If it needs a neck reset any pricing advantage is quickly lost in repairs.

OTOH it looks to be in generally good nick so it could be a nice little player with some spit and polish.

Maybe the top was sanded to remove painting similar to what's on the back?

Jake Wildwood worked on one of these which had a banjo tailpiece. Shame about that pickguard on this example- there may have been plenty of pick wear on the top. https://jakewildwood.blogspot.com/20...e-5-tenor.html

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and research, but I'm going to pass on this one.

Unfortunately, the seller has not answered the email I sent him, two days ago. So, I'm going to look for another one.

Seller seems to be an antiques dealer and may have limited knowledge, but some sort of correspondence would have been nice.

Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't do.
