Another interesting and unique creation, Jo. You produce such fine instruments.

Beautiful soundhole work and a lovely instrument. Can we hear some of your creations?

Another beautiful instrument from your hands. Is it tuned C-G-D-A-E?
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
You can see and hear a lot of video and sound samples of my instruments on my website https://www.dusepo.co.uk and my youtube https://www.youtube.com/c/JoDusepo. I will record a sound sample of this instrument this weekend before it gets shipped off to the customer next week, and new videos get posted on my youtube every Thursday, so it should be up there then.
Yep! A mandocello and octave mandola in one, just like a liuto cantabile.

Interesting and attractive piece! Is the customer going to use it in any particular genre? I like the fretboard stripe echoing the natural soundboard one, and the lacy rosette - looks way too delicate for woodcarving - so is it?
I always enjoy seeing your latest projects. I have always been impressed with your builds and especially the rosette details.
Fantastic!

I play classical mandocello in the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra on a 1912 Gibson K4. I study with Fabio Giudice who is a master of the liuto cantabile and Calace scholar. I am thrilled to see my new beautiful 10 string, and asked Jo to go ahead and record something on it before shipping. Jo was very good about working with me about specific details including that rose soundhole. This will be my first custom made instrument.
I am right now at the Classical Mandolin Society Convention in Kalamazoo Michigan (home of Gibson and "birthplace of the modern mandolin") and showed these pictures to a roomfull of 17 mandocello players and our section leader Florian Klaus Rumpf of Hamburg. Everyone was impressed, some took Jo's name for possible future orders, and Florian wants me to send him a sound sample as soon as I get it in hand. I will be home tomorrow and will deal with final payment and shipping (to Oregon) and I CAN'T WAIT!!
I promise to work something up to post soon, but I won't neglect my K4. I will be attending the local MAARG (mandolin acquisition addiction recovery group) session, but it probably won't do me any good.
Thank you Jo!

p.s. I also play bluegrass, fiddle tunes, and Americana on a Stiver F5, and I wonder what my Bill Monroe-worshiping friends will think of this.

Lovely instrument, I keep think about one of these, what scale length and string gauges did you use?

Beautiful; Can't wait to get this in my hands and figure out just how to play it! I will post a follow-up video, but will probably need a little time to get used to the 5th string course. THANK YOU for your work on this Jo, hope it arrives soon.
