Default Old Home Place - Song breakdown and sheet music

    Hey all

I figured I'd stick with the jam classics for the song breakdown this week so I focused on Old Home Place. One of the first bluegrass tunes I learned (thanks to Dan Sankey) and still a fun one to play. I've included 3 basic variations on the melody voicing as well as a harmony idea and some double stop ideas (5 variations for the verses).

Double stops on this song are where it's at by the way.

    Here's the full breakdown https://mattcbruno.com/2022/10/mando...ld-home-place/

Hope you enjoy - happy picking!

Nice! I'm planning on doing a breakdown for Poor Heart soon too. Great tune with a fairly standard progression except for the C#dim and the turnaround at the end... and that bass solo haha
