Default Tone Maturation - Hamlett Two-Point

    Hi Everyone,

I recorded a somewhat hastily composed tune yesterday that I think highlights the maturation of my Hamlett two-point quite well. My fingers are a little rusty as I’ve been working a ton, but this mandolin is really singing these days. It’s strung up with D’Addario Nickel Bronze 11.5 - 41 strings, with 17-gauge A strings for extra pulp. Im using a X-Stiff Clown Barf Pick:

Kevin, I really loved your melody, and your cross-picking, too! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, everyone. I’m glad the special qualities of this mandolin translated to the video (and your ears, lol). John really did a great job with it and continues to be a trusted resource if I have questions about it. It has been remarkable to experience what seem to be significant changes in this instrument since July 2021. I’d wager the changes in Sean’s had something to do with it to, with high warm weather humidity and chasing stable humidity in the winters. Who knows.

I’m starting to mull over an oval A from him, like an early 1900s instrument.

    More videos to come!

Of course I meant changes in *SEASONS, not Sean’s, haha.
