I have a Nyberg Octave Mando, and I am looking for a new case. I want a hard shell. Hoping to find one easily modified for OM or a place that will make a custom case. Hoping not to break the bank. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

You might want to check out Crossrock fiberglass cases, I think they're a good "budget" fiberglass case with decent build quality, although less "budget" than they used to be. I see the prices have gone up lately.
I bought one of their Classical Guitar cases for my Weber Yellowstone F-style octave mandolin and wrote a review here: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/threads/157200
None of the standard cases will be a perfect fit for an OM, but this one came pretty close for my OM. Your Nyberg is a different shape and would need extra padding in the case I bought. Maybe check out a banjo case to see if it's a better fit?
I use a banjo case for my OMs. They do need to be modified, the neck support needs to be moved but most are screwed in place so is an easy modification. Sometimes I need to add more padding or take padding away around the body to get a better fit.

Nyberg makes great instruments what's your budget?
My Nordwall Cittern came with this case. The case is surprisingly cheap but really of decent quality. I think at some point I will upgrade to a Hiscox small classical guitar case but for now it's a nice fit. I tried it in several Crossrock cases and they are definitely higher quality but it just fit better in the Thomann it came with.

Is your OM in the case that you think it was originally shipped in? If not, you might email Lawrence through his website and ask him what cases he currently uses for shipping his OM's.
I have a TKL hardshell case for my Petersen 22.5"-scale OM, which I bought used, but I'm guessing that it's officially a banjo case. Still, the OM fits fine in it without additional padding.
