Is there some kind of trick to adjusting the bridge on the treble side when the mando has a pickguard? I loosen the strings, but it's difficult to turn the wheel as there isn't a whole lot of room with the pickguard in the way.

Due to arthritis / injury i use a small pair of needle nose pilers. If you grip it lightly you won't mar it. joe
How often do you find yourself wanting to make this adjustment? For me, twice a year at the most. Remove the pickguard, dial in your adjustment, reinstall the pickguard...
too many strings
I carefully put a wide, flat blade screw driver between the bridge and saddle and twist it just enough to take the pressure off (either bass or treble side). Corresponding adjustment wheel can be turned easily in either direction.
