And tenor banjo. But Lucie Arnaz is the real star of the show here. Oodles of energy!

Of course this is a song no longer performed, composed in 1912 as a throwback to minstrelsy. A transcription of the lyrics on a university of Mississippi site are followed by a content disclaimer.

Exuberant performance but not really sure anyone on stage is actually playing banjo especially Lucille. I have a feeling the real strummers are backstage behind the curtains and probably not playing Kay banjos.

I believe you are correct on all counts. Although those Kay and Harmony banjos do sound better than some.

Oh, absolutely! But a charming bit of frivolity, nonetheless.

I didn’t listen, I just saw this on my YouTube feed with the sound turned off. I could tell they weren’t playing and it was all show biz, just struck me as funny visuals.

You don't have to be unsure. Lucy's Harmony tenor doesn't have a bridge and all of the banjos appear to have a block of felt stuck to the top of the banjo instead of a bridge. Lucy Arnez appears to have lost her felt bridge during the song. If they did have strings none of them would have made any noise and I'm assuming that was the goal.

You should have put a disclaimer in the original post about not having listened to it. It's going to take a while to scrub that out of my mind...

All I ad to see way Wayne Newton in the video to convince me not to listen.

He was VERY talented, but SO show biz I never liked anything I heard him do. He was on TV a lot when I was a kid
