    Default S S Stewart Banjolin

I am posting this up as to my eyes it poses a mystery- an US made tailpiece and retailer name but a neck that looks German made with a damaged headstock- with a zero fret as well and the pot has the marquetry seen on some French instruments. Was it assembled in the USA or is it French or German and has acquired a tailpiece and that S S Stewart plate?. Those that are interested can make suggestions. I would suggest it is 1930s- possibly earlier. Sadly, it has new tuners.

Certainly not made by S.S. Stewart. Why that name would be on there is beyond me.
