Anyone interested in a Midwest version of the Tenor Guitar Gathering?
Anyone interested in a Midwest version of the Tenor Guitar Gathering?

What state are you in?
I live in western Illinois. On the Illinois/Iowa border.

Just clicked on your name and see that you are a retired CAD designer. I still do some part time work from home with AutoCad. What software did you use?
Are you hoping for a 2023 summer tenor guitar gathering?
I’d be interested. Will follow the responses.
Thanx for post.

I primarily did Pro/e with some AutoCad. Looks like I could be learning SolidWorks (at 75) in order to teach it at Community College.
Right now trying to see if there is any interest in a Midwest Tenor Guitar Gathering.

Mandopops, how far west of Chicago? I live in the Moline area.
Dave Schneider
Dave, I live about 25 miles west of Chicago. I’m in the western suburbs. I’m not in western Illinois per se. Nonetheless, a gathering in Moline is not out of the question, especially if there is a good turnout. It should be fun.

My first thought was to try to get Old Town School of Folk Music to sponsor a Tenor Guitar Gathering. But anywhere in the Midwest would be great. Driving to the west coast is out of the question. And flying with instruments is not a good idea.

This old Your Fathers Mustache banjoist would love to attend such an event...with my Vega plectrum [CGBD] guitar. (It's an Advanced C-66 archtop with a 27" scale and has the deepest tone of any 4-string guitar I've ever played.) I live in Nashville but would not mind driving a bit to have some four-string fun!
I think I have found a music store that also has a stage area (In an old library) willing to host a tenor guitar event in Moline Illinois.
